May 3 Fabulous Face Spa

05/03/2008 - 2:00pm
05/03/2008 - 3:00pm

Event Title: Fabulous Face Spa

Description: Learn skincare techniques and fun new makeup looks for summer! You will use products that help you look and feel great without sacrificing important sustainable goals and green values! Many people do not think about how their personal care products affect their community and the world in general. We can make choices which support sustainable goals and green values and be cruelty free. For example:

The Body Shop shampoos, lotions and cosmetics contain ingredients which are sustainable such as palm oil. We are the first to utilize a plantation for our palm oil production which helps the communities it is grown in rather than being a destructive force.

We are the first to utilize a plantation for our palm oil production which helps the communities it is grown in rather than being a destructive force. We also won the PETA Proggy Award for Best Cruelty Free Cosmetics. In addition, our ingredients support local small scale farmers all over the world helping them to pull themselves out of poverty. Lastly, our packaging is made from recycled materials and our goal is to be carbon neutral by 2010.

These are just a few ways personal care products can support sustainable goals and green values. My goal is to provide education and awareness so consumers are aware of the impact their personal care products can have.
